Hatching and Patterning Disjointed Areas
by Lynne Taylor - 12 April 2003

Did you know that in V8.1, there is the capability to hatch and pattern disjointed areas?

To do this, simply set the method to Flood, and make sure that the Dynamic Area option is switched on.

Enter a data point inside the first area to flood, then hold down the [Ctrl] key to select additional enclosed regions to flood in one step. The regions highlight dynamically as you move the cursor over the drawing.

This method also supports the Locate Interior Shapes and Locate Text options, so you can still exclude these areas in the selected regions!
