DGN to DWG linestyles
by Lynne Taylor - 19 May 2003
Have you ever saved a DGN to DWG and then noticed that the dashed/broken linestyles appear as solid?
This is often due to the AutoCAD variable “LTSCALE” which controls the global scale at which its linetypes are viewed. Altering this value will change the length of dashes and the spaces between them.
In MicroStation V8.1, the global scale factor of a DWG can be set with a key-in. Simply enter in to the key-in window ACTIVE LINESTYLESCALE followed by the desired scale value. When you update the view, the scale of all broken linestyles will have changed!
Unfortunately, neither AutoCAD nor MicroStation applies this scale factor when a file is attached as a reference.
