Hatch Alternating Areas
by Lynne Taylor - 06 June 2002
The Hatch Area tool now provides the ability to hatch alternating areas when flooding a space occupied by shapes.
When the Flood method is selected, and "Locate Interior Shapes" is switched on, the "Alternating Area" option also activates. This can provide some interesting results!
Here, I have drawn a series of blocks that sit one inside the other.
I set a data point inside the area to flood, by clicking somewhere between the outside block, and the next one in.
This results in the hatch being placed between alternate shapes.
Note: I did this with "Associative Pattern" switched on, so that when I delete one of the internal shapes......
The hatch automatically updates to the relevant alternating regions!
